In Episode o22 of the LEO Training Podcast I had the pleasure of interviewing Todd Hargrove. Todd was  an attorney who then became a Feldenkrais practitioner, Rolfer, and author who started an evidence based blog at BetterMovement.org. The writing and content on that blog led Todd to author the book A Guide to Better Movement.

In this episode Todd and I go in depth in some of the material covered in his book and try to clear up some confusion regarding mobility, stability, and motor control. We also discuss in depth the nervous system.

Here is what you will learn in this episode:

  • Todd's journey from attorney to Feldenkrais practitioner and Rolfer
  • His book A Guide to Better Movement
  • Stabilizers and Prime Movers
  • Feldenkrais
  • Parasitic tension
  • Skill of relaxation
  • Neuroplasticity
  • Alex Hutchinson
  • Focus and attention
  • internal vs. external
