We are back with Episode 019 of the LEO Training Podcast. Today’s guest is industry veteran, Tony Gentilcore. In this episode Tony and I discuss the importance of coaches having their own coach, training in the 60-80% range, and why strength is the foundation for everything.
Tony Gentilcore is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA and co-founder of Cressey Sports Performance, located in Hudson, MA. He served as strength coach for eight years from 2007-2015 working with many elite athletes from varying sports (mostly baseball), but also had the opportunity to work with many clients in the general fitness population with varying abilities, injuries, and goals.
In addition Tony is a regular contributor to many reputable fitness publications such as Men's Health, Women's Health, T-Nation, BodyBuilding.com, and STACK. He also runs a successful website (TonyGentilcore.com) where he discusses lifting heavy things and his cat. Tony also hosts workshops with Dean Somerset focusing on the shoulder and hip. I’ll be sure to include a link to the upcoming workshops in the Show Notes.
